Sole Support for Parkinson’s – Walk

Delivered Dish participated in the 7th annual Sole Support’s Walk For Parkinson’s Disease!  All proceeds went to supporting the programs and services offered by Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon (PRO). PRO works to empower individuals who suffer from Parkinson’s by offering a variety of resources, including support groups, exercise and speech classes, and a helpline.

The walk began in Willamette Park, where a Delivered Dish booth was set up along with many other local vendors out to support this great cause. Delivered Dish handed out business cards with free delivery and sponsored a raffle where two lucky participant won $50 gift certificates to Delivered Dish! Although it was raining, everyone was in high spirits.

There were two distances you could walk: 1k or3k. People suffering from Parkinson’s walked as well as people walking in support of their family members. Many groups had signs in honor of family and friends with Parkinson’s and carried them with pride. Brian Grant, the former Blazer who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2008 participated in the walk. Stopping to pose for photos and chat with other walkers.

Overall, the rain didn’t stop all the participants from having a great time. Delivered Dish was proud to support such an amazing cause and be involved in the local community.
